1975 31' Bombay Clipper (recently SOLD)

The Bombay Clipper is the predecessor to the prestigious Island Packet line and was designed by renowned naval architect Bob Johnson.

"Gusto" is a desirable turnkey sloop that's been well maintained and features over 6 feet of standing headroom with a spacious 11 foot beam and a 3 1/2 foot draft - which makes it ideal for cruising the Intracoastal, the Keys or the Bahamas.

Her (North) sails include a single line roller furling jib and a full battened double reefed main that are both in excellent shape. She has a new sail cover and stainless framed bimini that comes with a full dodger and side panels to fully enclose the cockpit during those cool nights or stormy days. The traveler, roller furling and jib sheets are easily handled from the helm station.

The helm station includes a pedestal wheel and Autohelm 3000 w/remote and a freshly varnished teak table that's great for entertaining. There are two 12V outlets on the helm station where you can plug in the lighted compass that fits securely onto the teak cockpit table. The split stay is a great convenience for comfort while sailing behind the helm. There's a convenient built in cooler underneath the starboard cockpit cushion for easy access to your cold drinks. You can also cool off by stepping down the stainless ladder off the transom to take a swim then grill up them burgers or fish fillets on the stainless Magma Grill that hangs off the stern rail.

On deck are the high gunnels from mid-ship to bow with a built in fiberglass bowsprit that holds a Danforth anchor on plenty of line and chain. There are no soft spots on the deck - it's solid.

Down below in the galley is a stainless sink with an Adler Barbour 12 volt refrigeration system, a large pantry for storing dry goods and a Sea Cook single burner propane stove.

The head includes an enclosed porcelin marine toilet, a stainless sink with shower adapter that drains out to the through hull along with plenty of storage including drawers and a hanging closet.

A large dinette drops down into a double bed, a sette folds up to sleep another person and the large forward berth has plenty of headroom and an additional hanging closet. All cushions have new canvas. The new gray hull liner compliments the sky blue upholstrey. The 110V shore power supplies AC to four seperate outlets.

A JVC am/fm CD stereo system supplies the tunes and a Horizon VHF with mast mounted antena keeps you in touch with fellow boaters.

There are two automatic Rule bilge pumps - one being the primary and the other a secondary with an alarm to alert you in case your primary fails. There's also a Whale manual bilge pump in the spacious starboard side lazerette.

"Gusto" is powered by a Yanmar 3GM30F 27 h.p. fresh water cooled diesel engine that has less than 350 hours. Recent mechanical maintence procedures include a new mixing elbow and water/exhaust hose, complete cooling system flush, new fuel filters (primary and secondary Raycor), and recent oil change w/filter.

The stock 35 amp alternator was replaced with a 75 amp model that works in conjunction with a Balmar multi stage voltage regulator. The two bank battery system includes two 27 Deep Cycle batteries for the house and a strong starting battery to crank the engine. At port the banks are charged by a Nautilus battery charger and are seperated by a three way switch.

GUSTO made it through both hurricane Frances and Jeanne unscathed while at its dock at the Anchorage Marina near Dragon Point in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida.

GUSTO is not a fixer upper but a well maintained turnkey boat that's ready to sail away today.
